2011 Federal Tax Credits

Details: Must be an existing home and your principle residence. New construction and rentals do not qualify.
If you purchase an energy-efficient product or renewable energy system for your home, you may qualify for a federal tax credit. Please note, not all ENERGY STAR qualified products qualify for a tax credit.

Limits: $500 lifetime limit. If you received over $500 in these tax credits from 2006 - 2010 you are not eligible for anything more. |

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
You can get a credit on your Oregon income taxes for purchasing energy-efficient HVAC systems for your home:
- Central air conditioners
- Ductless heat pumps
- Duct Sealing and testing
- Furnaces, boilers and air handlers
- Geothermal heat pumps
- Heat pumps
- Heat recovery and energy recovery ventilation equipment
- Wood and pellet stoves
The Oregon Department of Energy requires the performance of all systems to be verified using the Check Me or Performance Tested Comfort System (PTCS) test procedure. You are eligable for a separate tax credit based on the cost of the test and any needed repairs. |

 Midstate Electric: Get up to $1,900 Rebate on Heat Pump Installation & Duct Testing. |
There is a cash discount of $1,200 -$2,000 on the cost of the heat pump depending on the efficiency of the heat pump and where the ducts are located. Both new and existing homes cn qualify. New electric furnaces without heat pumps can qualify for a $400 credit if the ducts are sealed and tested and run outside of the homes heated space |
